The DLG (German Agricultural Society) offers German and international companies the opportunity to jointly develop international key markets, to place products and services in the best possible way and to generate growth. One of the key markets in the African sub-Saharan region is Zambia. For this reason, DLG International is organizing the Livestock Expo Zambia for the third time. The Market

Due to its freshwater resources Zambia offers ideal conditions for agriculture. About two thirds of the population are employed in this sector and contribute for more than 40% to the GDP. Because of the rapidly booming market in the cities, the livestock sector - dairy industry included - has excellent growth opportunities. The most important basic food is maize. Other important crops are: manioc, millet, sorghum, sunflowers, cashews, soybeans, wheat, rice and sugar cane. These are cultivated in professional farms as well as in Emerging Farms.
