FERMA 2019

The Exhibition

FERMA is an international fair for cattle, pigs and poultry producers & breeders. It is no. 1 in Poland – a country which is one of the EU top producers of poultry and milk, with around 25 000 milk cattle farms. The show is specialized and became a nationwide platform for exchange of knowledge and experiences between farmers, organizations and scientists. The exceptional programme includes around 50 lectures, forums and discussions on current topics. Exhibitors present everything from genetics, feed systems, to pharmaceuticals and machinery used in farms with animal husbandry. The visitors’ profile shows them as mainly professionals: 90 % are farmers, 60 % come from greater distances. The fair has a perfect location: right in the very centre of Poland: with good connections in all directions, bringing around 250 exhibitors and 30 000 top customers from all over the country and abroad to FERMA. Ferma is the only occasion in Poland to meet fast growing farms, decedents and to gain first-hand knowledge on the polish animal production market.  One can also taste famous polish sausages, meats and cheeses.

The Market

Number of inhabitants in Poland it 38,2 mln, area of Poland is 312,7 thousands km², in this farmlands represent 14,5 mln ha. In Poland we have registered 1,255 mln farms, with this 206 000 has over 20 ha. Price of the hectare of farmland in last 10 years increased 20 times and achieved of average price 10 000 euro. Poland is the sixth food exporter in EU, value of export was 25 billions euro in 2015. Main export products are: eggs, mushrooms, apples, cherries and strawberries. In last 10 years export of agricultural products increased 5 times and import 4 times. Value of import of the agricultural devices and machineries it 1,2 billions euro (in 2015).
